Holly Marie Combs and Charisma Carpenter sat down with RealBreakingNate for a Q&A on the second day of Wizard World Austin and they had the crowd cracking up instantly — These two should have a sitcom, stat!
After briefly discussing Holly being an action figure and Charisma being told all about Jon Heder’s bed bug night at some little B&B somewhere, the first question, right out of the gate, was from a man asking, “For my wife, she’s in the third row… How do you feel about the new Charmed reboot?” Without a beat, Holly and Charisma’s microphones both hit the floor. Holly let out a, ‘Jesus Christ!’ before pacing around the stage. RealBreakingNate exclaimed, “I think it’s going to suck.” The audience roared. Nate then asked, “How about this? Are you going to watch it?” Holly and the audience said in unison, “No.” “We all like a good train wreck, right?” Nate asked. Holly responded, “This is why we don’t allow filming. — The CW is suing me right about now…” Later on in the panel, someone asked about how Charisma would feel if Buffy were rebooted and she answered, “I honestly am kind of torn about it because I think, in this day in age with everything that’s going on in this particular time, that to find for our Generation Zers and below it would be cool to have a slayer for their generation if the theme is there and Joss is backing it… But honestly, in my heart of hearts, I don’t want another Buffy unless it’s us. — It’s perplexing, frustrating and I feel that their capitalizing on a brand but changing the content. It’s like, F you.” Holly interjected, “Can you copy/paste her answer to mine… The CW is calling right now.”
One question from a fan was, “what are each of your favorite episodes from your shows?”
Holly’s favorite episode: “Sword in the City. For a few reasons because I just found out that I was pregnant with my first son and the writers decided to stab me in the stomach in that episode.” Charisma thought for a minute and answered, “Angel would be when I got my sitcom the Cordi show… And Buffy I liked the end of season 3 because I got to stake my first Vampire for the first time.” An audience member asked what shows they binge: “You’re done with Peaky blinders, right, because you haven’t mentioned it in half an hour?” Holly asked Charisma. They teased one another back and forth for a bit before Charisma continued, “Peaky Blinders is my favorite show right now. Ray Donovan is not bad. Stranger Things is all right.” “My kids made me start watching Riverdale. I might have watched some episodes without them…” Holly admitted. These two were hilarious. If you get a chance to see them on a panel together, I suggest you go!
