During the Texas Tribune Festival on Saturday, Margaret Moore, Richard Painter, Walter Shaub and Steve Wollins discussed the whether or not ‘Government Ethics were an Oxymoron’ at a panel with moderator Dave Levinthal.
Painter, a law professor at the University of Minnesota, former White House chief ethics counsel and current candidate running for Senate as a Democrat in Minnesota, was answering a question when the lights went out — He didn’t miss a beat and kept talking. He also said, to thunderous applause, “If people don’t want to follow the rules, then they can go get another job!” Watch below:
The lights actually went out twice during the panel while Painter was speaking and he kept talking to cover his point without stopping both times.
